🎂 Our Daughter’s 6th Birthday at Jellystone Park: RV Life, Yogi Bear, and Family Fun!
This summer, we celebrated our daughter’s 6th birthday with a special getaway to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort in Chincoteague Island, Virginia — and it was a blast! 🐻🎈
🚐 Our Home on Wheels
We rented a 5th wheel camper from Joint Base Andrews FamCamp, which offers RV rentals and campsites for military families
The camper was spacious and cozy — we all snuggled into one big bed! 🛏️ While the camper had a shower and toilet, we ended up using the nearby bathhouse due to a funky water smell (maybe we hooked it up wrong? 😅).

🏕️ The Resort Experience
Jellystone Park is huge and super kid-friendly. There were tons of families, and our daughter loved the swing set right across from our site. The water park was just a short walk away — perfect for toddlers and big kids alike! 💦
We cooked most of our meals in the camper, but ventured out once for dinner off-site. The resort also had a fire pit, which made for cozy evenings roasting marshmallows. 🔥

🛻 Gear That Made It Easy
One of the best decisions? Bringing our collapsible wagon! It made hauling gear and kids around the resort a breeze. We got ours from Costco, but here’s a similar one on Amazon:
🛰️ Bonus: NASA Nearby!
Just up the road is NASA’s Wallops Island Flight Facility, which added a cool science twist to our trip. 🚀
📝 Tips & Takeaways
🔌 Electricity hookup worked great, but double-check your water connection.
🧼 Bathhouses are clean and convenient if your RV setup isn’t perfect.
🎟️ Activity schedules are packed, but it’s not always clear what’s included vs. extra cost.
💰 Budget alert: This trip was on the pricier side, but worth it for the memories!
